Organic cultivation of young barley leaves and kale begins
Production to begin in autumn 2012
Nagata Chaen (President: Yasushi Nagata; Head office: Joyo City, Kyoto) has begun organic cultivation of young barley leaves and kale, the primary ingredients of aojiru (a vegetable juice drink), and will start production in autumn this year.
Young barley leaves and kale are known as the primary ingredients of aojiru, a miracle drink for modern humans that do not get enough vegetables. The cultivation will take place in Usuki City, Oita, and it will be organic, utilizing the company's know-how from cultivating tea leaves. The focus, of course, will be on delivering a safe product to consumers, so production will take place under thorough management.
This autumn, the young barley leaves and kale harvested will be dried, ground and sterilized.
They will be delivered in a ready-to-use form.
